Our Story
ClimeTrek was founded by our CEO, Captain DK Balian. DK is a committed environmentalist and is acutely aware of the emissions from the shipping sector and, for many years, was an advocate of reducing emissions from the shipping industry. Following a visit to his native India, DK saw at first hand the effects of climate change and this cemented his idea to set up an environmental consultancy to promote and support active reductions in carbon emissions.
ClimeTrek is now a leading firm in the field of carbon project consultancy and trading. Our primary goal is to source high quality impactful projects, work with project owners to develop the projects and to monetise the resultant offsets for the benefit of the local communities.
We also assist companies and organizations in reducing their carbon footprint and becoming more sustainability focused.
Our team of experts has extensive experience in managing projects through the entire lifecycle. We work with implementation partners, often in remote locations, to ensure our projects are developed to meet the needs of the local communities. The carbon credits from the projects bring much needed investment into communities that are often living in extreme poverty. The buyers of the credits come from a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, and agriculture. All are looking to offset their emissions and to invest in high quality projects that make a real difference to people’s lives.
